Description of Significance LOCAL ARCHITECT JEWELL HICKS DESIGNED THE BRYAN COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN THE NEO-CLASSICAL STYLE. THE BUILDING FEATURES CORINTHEAN COLUMNS, IONIC PILASTERS, A RUSTICATED BASE AND HEAVY USE OF CLASSICAL DETAILING. THE BUILDING HAS SERVED AS THE SEAT OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT SINCE ITS COMPLETION IN 1917. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 8/23/84.
